A business process outsourcing firm aiming to enter the ‘integrated BPO’ space through multi-product and service offerings has recently set up shop in Manila, initially opening 1,000 seats in a 2,000-seater facility this year.
CSS (Cybernet Slash Support), a US-based organization catering to both the enterprise and mainstream customers, said they opened their own Manila delivery center after seeing “very tremendous growth” in operations in the country.
“We are seeing signs of growth coming,” explained Nick Sharma, CEO of CSS. Sharma said CSS offers a different value proposition to customers because they offer not just voice services, but focus mainly on technology and networking support services. “Almost all networking vendors source support from us,” he added.
The new facility located at McKinley Hill in Taguig City is only the first phase of their investment in the country, which Sharma refused to disclose, merely saying it amounts to “millions of dollars.” “Our intent is to have only 2,000 seats in the city, and then move on to the provinces,” he quipped, saying that the density of providers and saturation of workers is easily reached beyond the 2,000 level.
In addition to its local BPO investment, CSS said they are also trying to tap students from universities through their “Tech Career” program. “It’s a program where we offer pre-training of technologies to university students, so that they’d be ready for the industry the moment they graduate,” Sharma explained, claiming that it is the first program of its kind in the country.
With a clear target of around 25% to 30% revenue growth for the company this year, CSS is bent on contributing to the burgeoning BPO space in the country. “We are not just here to stay, we’re here to grow,” quipped Raghu Sharman, SVP and head of consumer services, CSS.
