Making its mark as the first UTM company to enter the $1.3 billion SIEM (Security Incident and Event Management) market, Cyberoam recently announced the release of the beta version of Cyberoam-iView, an open source logging and reporting solution.

The new logging solution, the company said in a statement, features a log management module to oversee logs in real time; aggregated reporting for centralized and consolidated view of events and activity across all applications; compliance reporting and security audit; and security reporting, among others.

An identity-based reporting capability is also available which will enable businesses to see “who is accessing what” in their system. A Forensic Analysis module is likewise available at the disposal of system administrators, which could possibly lower the time, effort and legal liabilities of companies during a security breach.

Users of other Cyberoam software will find it beneficial that the iView can be integrated with Cyberoam, SonicWall, Fortigate and Squid solutions, with more software coming soon, it said.
With this move, Cyberoam said it is likewise making it a point to contribute to the open source market. – John Mark V. Tuazon
