With hopes of becoming the country’s one-stop shop for shopping, search, and networking activities, 88DB.com, erstwhile a local classifieds site, has recently implemented a major overhaul of its portal by integrating 28 new categories that users can browse through.

Travel, Business Services, Beauty and Wellness, Pets, and Weddings are just among the categories that the new site will carry. “All of us are always seeking to connect,” said Racquel Cagurangan, general manager of 88DB Philippines, “whether through someone who can give us information we need, a product that can help us, or a service that can make our lives better. We are also looking for people who may need our services or products that we in turn offer. It is this dynamic continuous interaction that makes 88DB different – while other sites do have categories, ours build on that to become engaging communities.”

Additionally, the 88DB.com management streamlined the search process by providing narrowed search options, while providing a distinct look for each of the categories’ landing pages. “We made sure that important services related to the field or category are pushed forward so users won’t have any difficulty looking for information they need,” added Lyndon Jocson, Business Development Manager for 88DB.

Not willing to sit on their laurels, 88DB.com has a few more features to roll out that’s currently in the pipeline, including an SMS contact option for sellers and an improved payment gateway for on-site transaction. “We are eyeing the possibility of opening more payment gateways to support customer-seller transactions,” Jocson continued.

88DB.com is a rich-media classified ad portal created to provide large companies, small-and-medium enterprises, organizations and freelancers a venue to promote their products or services online at little to virtually zero costs. — John Mark V. Tuazon
